The Museum Barberini, rebuilt according to historical construction plans, is considered one of Potsdam’s most beautiful buildings. Opened at the beginning of 2017, the extensive exhibition “Hinter der Maske. Künstler in der GDR” was on show from the end of October. In addition, the large-format artworks from the Palace of the Republic by artists such as Bernhard Heisig, Wolfgang Metzkes and Werner Tübke were shown for the first time in more than twenty years. And for the exhibition “Hinter der Maske. Künstler in der GDR,” the Stiftung Kunstforum loaned the painting “Januskopf” by Harald Metzkes.
