Ronald Paris was born in Sondershausen (Thuringia) in 1933. After training as a stained-glass artist and glass painter, he studied mural painting at the Hochschule für bildende und angewandte Kunst Berlin-Weißensee from 1953 to 1958. From 1963 to 1966, he was a master student under Otto Nagel. From 1959 onwards, he worked as a freelance artist in Berlin, and alongside painting and graphic art, he also worked in public art and theatre. From 1993 to 1998, he taught as a Professor of Painting at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle. In 2013, he received the Brandenburg Minister-President’s honorary award for his life’s work. He died in Rangsdorf in 2021.
