Director of the Städtischen Museen Freiburg
Born in 1965
Jutta Götzmann studied art history, German philology and educational science in Münster and Rome. She received a scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Foundation and received her doctorate in 2002 from the University of Münster. In 2003/04 Götzmann received a research grant (post-doc) at the Bibliotheca Hertziana, Rome (Max Planck Institute for Art History).
As a long-standing exhibition curator and project manager, she worked at the LWL Museum for Art and Culture, Münster and at the German Historical Museum, Berlin. In 2008 she was appointed founding director of the Potsdam Museum – Forum for Art and History and took over the management of the establishment of the museum on the Alter Markt. In addition to her curatorial work and her collection management for art from the 19th to the 21st century, she takes on courses and cooperation projects, e.g. at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, the HTWK Leipzig and the Berlin University of the Arts. In autumn 2022 she was appointed Executive Director of the Municipal Museums in Freiburg and Director of the Augustinian Museum and will take up the post in March 2023. Jutta Götzmann is the author of numerous writings on ancient, modern and contemporary art.

Board and Artistic Director of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin
Born in 1979
Sophie Plagemann studied Modern German Literature, Contemporary History and Theatre Studies/Cultural Communication in Berlin and London.
Her work for museums began in press and public relations at the Jewish Museum Berlin. She then worked as a freelance curator and coordinator of exhibitions for museums and foundations. For the Leibniz Association, she coordinated, among other things, the programme of research museums as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
She has been working at the Stadtmuseum since 2018, most recently as head of the collection department. Since September 1, 2024, she has been Artistic Director of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin.
Rector of weißensee kunsthochschule berlin
Born in 1971
After spending time abroad in London and Paris, she studied art history and German language and literature in Tübingen and Berlin. She wrote her doctoral thesis on art and gender criticism at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, where she was awarded a doctorate. Focusing on contemporary art, gender studies, art and culture of Eastern Europe, and the history of performance and media art, she has worked as a cultural scholar, curator, and author since the late 1990s. She realized and (co-)curated numerous exhibition projects in Berlin and internationally. These include “Gender Check. Femininity and Masculinity in the Eastern Europe,” mumok–Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien (2009); “And Now. Female Artists from the GDR,” Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin (2009); exhibitions for the Marion Ermer Prize, Neues Museum Weimar (2010 and 2013); “Left Performance Histories. Recollecting Artistic Practices in Eastern Europe,” nGbK Berlin (2018); “Die wir nie gewesen sind,” Deutscher Künstlerbund Berlin (2019).
Angelika Richter worked for the Liverpool Biennial 2002 in Great Britain and was Artistic Director and Executive Director of Werkleitz Gesellschaft e.V. from 2003 to 2006. From 2018 to 2021 she was Executive Director of the Deutscher Künstlerbund. She was a member of the international DFG research network “Action Art Beyond the Iron Curtain” and a visiting scholar at the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe in Leipzig. With an interdisciplinary focus, Angelika Richter has taught at art colleges in Germany. She is active on juries, advisory boards, and as a lecturer. Dr. Angelika Richter has been president of weißensee kunsthochschule berlin since 2021.

Born in 1976
Gero Dimter, was born in Dresden, graduated in law from the University of Dresden and completed his post-graduate legal training in Berlin, where he also passed the second state law examination in 2003.
Dimter worked as an attorney before being appointed as a judge in Berlin in 2004.
After working at various different courts, he served as the Officer for Judicial Affairs and Consumer Protection in the Brussels office of the Federal State of Berlin from 2010 to 2012.
In 2013, Dimter was appointed member of a civil chamber at Kammergericht Berlin (the state’s highest court). From April 2014 until February 2019, he was simultaneously head of one of the Administrative Departments of the Kammergericht.
In March 2019, he became Vice President of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation).

Born in 1966
Mit Beginn der Ausstellungstätigkeit 1985 konnten in Zusammenarbeit mit Berliner und nationalen Museen und Kunstinstitutionen im Kunstforum der Berliner Volksbank zahlreiche Ausstellungen präsentiert werden.

Museumssonntag: We continue the “Museum Sunday” on our own initiative and enable you to enjoy art for free in our venue on the first Sunday of every month.
